Our Trustees

Stacey Papanui   Chairman

He uri ahau no Ngati Wheoro. Born in Rotorua I returned to our homestead in Tihoi in 1994. 

I have 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren, I am currently retired and enjoying serving the Hurakia Trust and enjoying my whanau.

Dion Cairns

The Cairns Whanau has been in the Tihoi area for many generations and I am proud to be part of the family and area I grew up in.

 

I did my apprenticeship as a Diesel Mechanic and have run and owned successful businesses in Australia.

Vanessa Hakaria

I was born and raised in Tihoi. I have 2 beautiful daughters. I am very proud of being part of something that will better the future of our Tamariki and Whanau.

Hazel Cairns

Iwi affiliation: Ngati Tuwharetoa, Manaiapoto, Ngai Tuhoe, Ngati Wheoro.

Education: Diploma in Business and Certificates in Business Administration.

 

Experience: I have over 15 years of business experience having owned a tourism and labour recruitment company. 8 years sitting as a trustee on multiple Maori Trusts.

William Adams

Iwi affiliations: Ngati Tuwharetoa, Maniapoto, Ngati Wheoro.

I was born and raised on Hurakia which has allowed me to see the changes to our whenua and business. I have an extensive background in farming and have spent 12 years as a shearer.

Tukino Kingi

I have lived in Tihoi for many years after returning home from Australia.

 

I am currently working in the family logging business alongside my father.
